Lorenz’ weekly – Sketch and Google’s plus of performance
November 22nd, 2015
A massive read about “How Apple is giving design a bad name” was published on (link: http://www.fastcodesign.com/3053406/how-apple-is-giving-design-a-bad-name text: Fast Company) last week. I admit I still had no time to read it, but I wanted to put it on the list anyway.
Netlix is building a really nice Sketch plugin to fetch data like images and text from simple JSON files and place it into your designs. I definitely will try it out as soon as the plugin is available. See a video of the plugin in action (link: https://vimeo.com/146152197 text: here).
Last week Apple launched a beautiful (link: http://www.apple.com/shop/product/MLDW2/apple-watch-magnetic-charging-dock-white?fnode=80 text: Apple Watch Dock) which I’d like to get as a christmas gift.
What a fine (link: http://www.webstock.org.nz/ text: conference website)! The illustration work is really lovely. And yeah - parallax!
If you are still looking for some insights how to setup your design team, maybe read this review about the Google Design sprint workshop on (link: http://hackingui.com/design/design-sprint/ text: hackingui.com).
Google Plus went completely resonsive last week and the team around Luke Wroblewski did a hell of a job to optimize the code for performance. See the show case (link: https://developers.google.com/web/showcase/case-study/googleplus text: here).
If you are a mobile app designer, have a look at (link: https://github.com/mattsjohnston/stitch?utm_content=buffer1e08f&utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter.com&utm_campaign=buffer text: Stitch). It’s a plugin you can automatically generate Framer interactions directly from Sketch. Awesome? Awesome!
Another article on (link: http://www.fastcompany.com/3052885/mark-zuckerberg-facebook text: Fast Company) explains Mark Zuckerberg’s plan for the future of facebook.
Have a great week!
